Patricia G. Egan, MBA, CFRE
Pat has been a leader in the fundraising community for more than 25 years, serving large and small organizations.
She has successfully lead fundraising teams, developed strategic plans and integrated development plans, designed
and implemented capital campaigns, conducted feasibility studies, planned and executed significant special events,
written grants, secured major gifts, performed organizational/development audits, and created infrastructure and policies.
Her board experience includes gap analysis, scorecards, commitment documents, and trainings. She has revitalized
and recruited board members and trained boards in the role of the board, fundraising, and governance. Her planning retreats focus on the needs and goals of the organization.
Pat was awarded her MBA in Marketing Administration from Cleveland State University and became a Certified Fund
Raising Executive in 1996. She has taught special events at Tri-C Corporate College, created and taught the first fundraising course at Levin College of Urban Affairs, and taught marketing at Mandel School. She also teaches workshops in Fundamentals of Fundraising and CFRE Survey Course.
She was a senior level executive at CSA Healthcare System, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Recovery Resources, EMH Regional Healthcare System, and Case Western Reserve School of Medicine. She founded Beyond Fundraising in 2007.
Professionally, she has been the President of AFP, Greater Cleveland Chapter, which named her Outstanding Fundraising Executive in 2011. In 2013, she was appointed to the AFP International Foundation Board. She is a graduate of Leadership Lorain Class of 2002, where she served on the board as a member and Chair. She has also served on the board of Common Ground, as well as other local non-profits.
Personally, Pat resides in Bay Village, with her Katrina rescue dog, Molly. She is the proud mother of two children and grandmother of five. She is a ZUMBA fanatic and avid golfer.
Deborah S. Miller, CFRE
Deborah S. Miller, CFRE, currently serves as Senior Advancement Officer for Baldwin Wallace University. From 2005-2012, she served as Director of Development for Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center where she was responsible for managing the development and marketing programs. While there, she oversaw a successful comprehensive campaign for a new building for the Center. Prior to Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center, Miller served as a Major Gifts Officer for Cleveland State University. She joined the University in 1998 as Assistant Director for the Annual Fund and also served as the Development Officer for the Fenn College of Engineering. She started her career in fundraising at Youth Challenge. She has been in the development field for over 20 years and has experience in management, major & planned giving, annual giving, event planning, and board development. Miller achieved her Certified Fundraising Executive certification in 1998, holds an MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University and BBA from the University of Toledo. She is a past president and board member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Greater Cleveland Chapter and is currently active both locally and nationally in AFP committee work.
Karen Kannenberg, CFRE
Karen Kannenberg, CFRE, has more than 30 years of fundraising experience with organizations of varying size and scope. As Cleveland Metroparks first professional fundraiser she helped to establish the Emerald Necklace Endowment Fund and implement all facets of giving to the Park District. In her current role of Principal Giving Director Karen focuses on major and planned gifts. Previously Karen was the development director of the Akron Symphony Orchestra and has worked for the Western Reserve Historical Society and The Cleveland Play House. She has served on the boards of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Cleveland Chapter, Northern Ohio Planned Giving Council and Ohio Invasive Plants Council. Karen is a graduate of Baldwin Wallace University and involved with its Arts Management Alumni Network. Karen was recognized by AFP Greater Cleveland as its Outstanding Fundraising Professional in 2016 and received the Certified Fund Raising Executive credential in 2005.
Diane M. Strachan, CFRE
Diane Strachan, a native Clevelander, has been working in the non-profit sector for twenty five, twenty three of those years in development positions. Her experiences include social service, where she served as Director of Annual Giving at Judson Retirement Community; higher education where she served as Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations at Lake Erie College and as Senior Director of Development for Major Gifts at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine; healthcare where she served as Director of Principal Giving at the Summa Foundation; and museum service where she served as Director of Development at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens. Diane currently works at the Cleveland Museum of Art where she began as Director of Planned Giving and advanced to Director of Development. Across her development experiences, Diane has been responsible for: annual giving programs; planned giving programs; special events planning and implementation; volunteer management; and major gift and principal giving infrastructure and implementation.
Diane is a past president of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Cleveland Chapter, past president of the Northern Ohio Planned Giving Council, past president and a founding board member of the Western Reserve Planned Giving Council, and a past member of the steering committee of Leave a Legacy®, Summit-Portage-Medina. Currently, she serves as a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Greater Cleveland Chapter Past President’s Advisory Committee and the Northern Ohio Planned Giving Council Program Committee.
Diane is a local speaker on such topics as gift planning, principal giving, annual giving, and special event fundraising and has served as a faculty speaker for the Association of Fundraising Professionals Fundamentals of Fundraising Course. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Cleveland State University. Diane completed the Certified Fund Raising Executive credential in 2003 and in 2015 was named the Outstanding Fundraising Professional for northern Ohio by the Association of Fundraising Professionals ~ Greater Cleveland Chapter.
