Committees

AFP of Greater Cleveland’s volunteers are the strength and soul of our organization. You can enhance your membership experience by joining one of the following committees.

The Communications Committee oversees the chapter newsletter, web site, social media and public relations. The committee also assists in promoting educational and networking events, which are organized by the Professional  Development Committee, and is also responsible for developing community partnerships and overseeing the communications of nonprofit related legislative issues. The Membership Committee is responsible for the oversight of activities related to the recruitment and retention of members, the development of collegiate chapters, and the distribution of AFP-GC scholarships. Subcommittees include Scholarship, Recruitment and Retention, Youth in Philanthropy and Collegiate Chapters. This committee also co-manages the mentoring program with the Communications Committee. The Professional Development Committee is responsible for the oversight of professional education opportunities for members and the fundraising community such as the Fundamentals of Fundraising and CFRE education and training, professional development activities, and the chapter’s annual meeting. The Resource Development Committee is responsible for activities related to National Philanthropy Day® events and awards, as well as the annual BE the CAUSE. In addition, the committee creates opportunities for corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, and individual philanthropic support of local AFP programs and scholarships. Contact Calvin S. National Philanthropy Day®  is a special day set aside each November to recognize the contributions of philanthropy, as well as those active within the philanthropic community, whose efforts and generosity continue to enrich our world and our lives. National Philanthropy Day® is AFP-GC’s largest annual fundraiser, with proceeds benefiting member scholarships and programming. For more details and to volunteer for the NPD Committee, contact
