The Grants and Development Associate is responsible for managing all aspects of grant funding to maximize financial support from foundations and government grants for Beech Brook. The Grants and Development Associate will work closely with Beech Brook department heads to gather information and ensure all deadlines are met.
Essential Responsibilities (others may be assigned):
Develop strategies to increase grant funding
Create a plan and timeline for all Beech Brook grant solicitations
Research new grant opportunities
Write/edit grant proposals
Review all grant proposals before submission
Generate/manage reporting on the status of grant funding
Database management support to the Development Department
Gift entry, tracking and gift acknowledgment, and generating reports
Support for the department may include assistance with events, annual fund, and other solicitations
Education:
Degree in Communications, Journalism or related experience with grant writing and fundraising support
Qualifications:
3-5 years of grants writing and general development experience
Proven track record and previous success with grants writing and management
Experience with nonprofit database systems, Raiser’s Edge preferred
Strong writing, data analysis, and project management skills
Ability to collaborate and communicate with other agency staff during the grants writing process
