Marketing and Communications Part time Consultant

Shaker Schools Foundation

This part time position supports marketing and communications for the Shaker Schools Foundation with additional support to District Alumni Relations. (10-12 hours per week)

Nature and Scope of Job

The Communications Specialist should have a wide range of skills including strong writing skills, social media experience, basic video editing and still photography skills. Familiarity with desktop publishing a plus, but not required.

Essential Functions in no priority order:

● Promotes Shaker Schools Foundation mission through a variety of communication channels.

● Assists in the preparation and production of both print and electronic publications and  materials, including e-newsletters, marketing and promotional materials, media releases, and annual reports.

● Collaborate and lead social media campaigns, content and metrics.

● Assists in updating website content on a regular basis.

● Assists in creating and producing video messages.

● Implements a strategy to ensure assigned tasks are completed within required time frames.

● Respects privacy and maintains the confidentiality of privileged information.

● Works with staff to ensure shared resources are used effectively.

● Collaborates with internal and external communications partners, including District communications staff, City of Shaker, and others.

● Updates skills as needed to use available task-appropriate technology effectively.
